Plant Setup
Getting started
New to this tool? Turn on Worked example (top right) to see a filled register, then turn it off to build your own. Your own entries come back when it is off.
Tell the tool about your plant and it builds a CCP register: each control point with its objective, monitoring, a three-tier limit set (target range, action limit, critical limit), corrective actions and support systems.
- Step 1, Plant Setup: supply name and size, source water class and the treatment steps your plant runs.
- Step 2, CCP Register: fills in automatically. Edit the text, the target and action limits, and the held-for durations to suit your plant.
- Step 3, Report & Save: PDF and CSV of the register, and a project file you can load again (Premium).
- Critical limits come from the DWQAR 2026 where the rules set them.
- Target and action limits are suggested with a margin inside the critical limit (set in Settings); adjust to your plant.
- Clear all (bottom of this tab) empties the plant and your register edits; Settings are kept.
What is a CCP? A Critical Control Point is a point or step in a treatment process where control can be applied and a hazard prevented, eliminated, or reduced to an acceptable level. At each CCP you monitor a parameter against limits and act when those limits are approached.
Supply details
Just enough to label your register.
Labels the register, the report and the file names. Any name or supply ID.
Pick the band for the population served. The numeric critical limits shown are the Level 3 monitoring-rule values.
Source water class
Sets the protozoa treatment target, which sets your filter turbidity limit (DWQAR rule 8 & T3.PC.2).
Treatment steps
Select every step your plant runs; select again to remove one. Each control point becomes a CCP.

CCP Register
Guide: using this tab
Your CCP register. Each card follows the standard structure:
- Objective — what the control point achieves.
- Monitoring — parameter, analyser, location, who is responsible, and records.
- Performance criteria — target range, action limit and critical limit. Critical limits set by a rule are locked; the rest are editable.
- Held-for duration — how long a limit must be exceeded before it applies, entered under each action and critical limit. Type a time (for example 2 min) or a proportion of run time (for example 5% of daily run time); the field suggests common values as you type.
- Corrective actions — separate responses at the action and critical tiers.
- Support systems — instrument and operational upkeep.
A limit you have typed shows reset with the suggested value; click it to go back. Everything you edit is saved and included in the report.
The green, amber and red dots mark the target, action and critical tiers. Colour bands are prompts to look, not instructions to act.

Export your register or save your work.
- PDF report — a formatted, print-ready register. Choose Save as PDF in the print dialog.
- CSV — the register as a spreadsheet.
- Save (JSON) — downloads everything you've entered; load it back to continue.
